The BWF Badminton World Federation has put all world tour and BWF organized tournaments [March 16- 12th April] on hold till the 12th of April.
In a statement released by the body, said that the increase in the spread of the pandemic virus has led to the decision for the event to be put on hold.
The fast spread of the Coronavirus globally has made us decide as a body in close consultation and agreement with our Host Member Associations and Continental Confederation to cancel or postpone all tournaments in this period due to travel and quarantine restrictions measures put in place and also the subsequently complicated logistics it causes to the movements of the Badminton athletes.
The affected Tournaments include the Swiss Open, which was initially scheduled to begin next week, Indian Open, Orleans Masters, Malaysia Open, and the Singapore Open, which also consists of some Grade three tournaments.
The BWF also added that that had had an agreement with the Badminton England Association as they have both been in constant communication with the government officials and vital authorities in the U.K about any possible disruptions to the YONEX All England Open.
Both parties have reached an agreement with the British government recent policies spelled of on the early hours of Friday morning to proceed with the staging of the tournament
However, all Indian Badminton shuttlers who failed to Progress at the All England are making a return back to India with the arrivals of Kidambi Srikanth, and Park Tae Sang on Friday.
