Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas feels Kyrie Irving is a snail as compared to Allen Iverson. Irving played an instrumental role in taking the Dallas Mavericks to the final of the previous season as he averaged 25.6 points per game in 58 games he played.
Arenas, who is not a big fan of Kyrie Irving, said Allen Iversion’s crossover is far better than Irving. Iverson is regarded as one of the best players in the history of the game and won the MVP award in the 2000-01 season.
Furthermore, Iverson won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1997 and was an 11-time NBA All-Star, won the All-Star game MVP award in 2001 and 2005.
“Kyrie is a snail compared to f*cking Allen Iverson. A snail. How many combo moves Kyrie has to do to get by somebody? One move, this is all AI had to do (mimics crossover) … You couldn’t touch Allen Iverson,” Arenas said on Gil Arena podcast.
Arenas admitted it was tough to guard against Allen Iverson because of his crossover. Arenas also discussed with Brandon Jennings, Rashad McCants and Josiah Johnson how USA’s gold medal at the Paris Olympics proves why Steph Curry is the best point guard ever.
On the other hand, Allen Iverson feels Kyrie Irving has got the best handles in the NBA.
“He got the best. … Kyrie will have you beat and then bring it back and play with it. He’s toying with people, you know what I mean? He can still just go, but if he feels like playing with you,” Iverson had said on Shaquille O’Neal’s YouTube show.
