Anthony Edwards Reveals His Preparation to Reach Greatness

Anthony Edwards has established himself as one of the most exciting young superstars in the NBA. The Minnesota Timberwolves star possesses all the tools to take the next step and become the new face of the league, combining talent, explosiveness, and a magnetic presence both on and off the court.

He said the process was fun, that he went to the gym every day knowing exactly what he wanted to improve, and that was the most enjoyable part for him. He also noted that greatness can be boring because it involves many repetitive days in the gym working on basic moves, but he believes that discipline pays off in the long run.

He acknowledged that he has been studying the games of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, two of the fiercest competitors in basketball history. His goal is clear: to reach their level through repetition, consistency, and complete focus on fundamentals.

At just 24 years old, Edwards is determined to turn every practice session into an opportunity to refine his craft. That mindset, combined with his natural ability, puts him on the right path to dominate the league in the coming years.

A Leap That Cements His Leadership

Edwards finished the 2024-2025 season with the best numbers of his career, averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists over 79 games. He earned his third consecutive All-Star selection and was named to the All-NBA Second Team, confirming his status as the undisputed leader of a Timberwolves squad with serious championship ambitions.

Despite his progress, the playoffs remain unfinished business. Minnesota fell short in the Western Conference Finals against the champion Oklahoma City Thunder, after losing in the same round the previous year to the Dallas Mavericks. With those lessons learned and his maturity still growing, Edwards knows the next step is to deliver the franchise’s first-ever Larry O’Brien Trophy.
