The Washington Wizards have been struggling to get going in the ongoing season. The Wizards have had a poor start to the season. However, they were able to make some sort of a comeback as they won seven out of their last eight games. But the Wizards returned to their losing track as they lost against Boston Celtics by the skin of their teeth on Monday.
The Wizards talisman Bradley Beal gave a four-point lead to his team in the final 46 seconds but Jayson Tatum played killjoy as he scored the winning basket and the Celtics won by 111-110.
Meanwhile, Bradley Beal was once again at his best for Washington Wizards as he racked up a whopping 46 points in the game. But, his efforts went in vain however he was able to write his name in the history books alongside former legend Michael Jordan and Brooklyn Nets linchpin James Harden.
As per ESPN Stats & Info, “Bradley Beal has his 21st 30-point game of the season. Since the NBA-ABA Merger (1976-77), only Michael Jordan (26) and James Harden (22) have had more 30-point games through their first 30 games of a season.”
Thus, Beal has played with great consistency in the first 30 matches of the season and he will look to continue the good show. The Wizards have won 13 matches but they have lost 19 games in this season and they will want Russell Westbrook to step up his game and support Beal.
Furthermore, Beal also bagged an unwanted record as he extended his streak to 11 straight losses when scoring 40+ points. It’s the longest streak in NBA history. This list includes Walt Bellamy and Wilt Chamberlain, who lost nine and eight matches respectively despite scoring more than 40 points.
The Washington Wizards will next face Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
