The LA Lakers talisman Anthony Davis has been sidelined for four weeks due to an Achilles Tendon injury in his right leg. Furthermore, point guard Dennis Schroder has been also been ruled out. Thus, it is crucial for the LA Lakers to come up with a collective effort in the absence of AD and provide support to their linchpin, LeBron James.
The Lakers lost their second consecutive match of the league, only for the second time in this season. They went down against the previous season runners-up Miami Heat by 96-94. Kyle Kuzma top-scored for the Lakers with 23 points whereas James scored 19 points and provided nine assists and made as many rebounds. Furthermore, Montrezl Harrell scored 18 points for the Lakers.
After a narrow loss against the Heat, James admitted that his teammates are doing their part, and it’s time for him to pick up his game. James scored 19 points on 7-for-21 shooting against the Heat (including just 1-for-8 from 3-point range), which is his worst shooting percentage of the season.
“They are doing their part. They are doing their part and more. Every time we’re out on the floor, we’re all trying to protect each other and bring each other up out on the floor every single night. It doesn’t matter if you are making shots or not, we’re going to hold each other accountable, and everybody is picking up in AD’s absence.
“It obviously hasn’t resulted in wins these last two games, but we’re going to keeping working on our habits and continue to be great for one another.”
Bron is the leader of the pack and he expects a better performance from himself. James will aim to make a solid comeback in the coming matches. There is no doubt that a lot depends on him in the absence of Anthony Davis.
The LA Lakers have won 22 matches whereas they have lost nine so far. The Lakers will next face the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
