The two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo finally got the opportunity to be in the same team as LeBron James when Team LeBron took on Team Durant in the All-star game. The Greek Freak had played in different teams in the previous two matches of the All-star and it was a dream come true for him to share the same stage with the King.
Giannis didn’t disappoint as he top-scored with 35 points, scoring 16-16 field goals for Team Lebron. The Men in Yellow defeated Team Durant by a massive margin of 170-150.
Meanwhile, Giannis was full of praise for Akron Hammer after the game. The 26-year old, who bagged the Kobe Bryant MVP award, is amazed to note James’ consistency. LeBron is currently 36 years old and he is playing his 18th NBA season.
The LA Lakers legend has mostly delivered the goods and there is no doubt that he is one of the best players in the league. James has always worked hard on his fitness and he has been able to reap rewards for the same.
It is never easy for any athlete to dominate the game the way James has done and a lot of credit goes to his passion and hunger to get better every day.
Giannis believes James gets the credit but we should give him more praise as he has been consistent right throughout his long career.
Giannis said, “It’s interesting to me how LeBron is still in one of the best shapes of his life and being the best player in the world and still be in Year 18. That’s really interesting. I want to know how.”
“He’s been consistent for 18 years,” Antetokounmpo said. “He’s always there, he’s always showing up, he’s unbelievable. He obviously gets the credit, but I think we’ve got to give him even more credit. Doing it for 18 years, guys, that’s hard.”
James has proved that age is just a number and he keeps getting better and better.
