Steph Curry can do almost everything on the Basketball court. Curry can shoot from a distance and he is regarded as one of the best three-point shooters to have embraced the game. However, Curry revealed he wishes he could play above the rim.
Playing above the rim means handing the ball higher than the rim of the basket. As Curry is only 6 feet 2 inches tall, he isn’t known for his dunks.
The 4-time NBA champion admitted his covet while talking on the Heat Check podcast. Giving Jonathan Kuminga’s example, Curry said his teammate can easily play above the rim, which he can’t.
“I’m still 35 years old, 15 years in the league. Court in my backyard. It’s always at eight feet. The other day, Jonathan Kuminga and I were at a pickup game, and I threw a backdoor alley and I threw it to the corner backboard. I thought, ‘Like there’s no way he can get it, and he got it.’ I got home that afternoon and let’s throw it up there, let me see what it feels like if I could be up here on a 10-foot rim.”
On the other hand, Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy revealed Curry will play for the Dubs for the whole of his career.
“That guy can get whatever he wants,” Dunleavy said in a news conference. “It’s been a sprint here getting through the draft and free agency and summer league, but all of that will get figured out. Steph, I think I can say pretty confidently, that he will be a Warrior for life.”
Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in 74 games in 2023-24 season. He was selected to play in his tenth All-Star games.
