Brooklyn Nets talisman James Harden is having a dream run in the ongoing season after he made the switch from Houston Rockets. Harden has played an instrumental role in the success of the team along with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. However, Harden was enough to take his team over the line on Thursday in the absence of Irving and Durant.
Brooklyn Nets registered their sixth consecutive win of the season as they defeated Indiana Pacers by 124-115. Harden was the star of the show as the talisman scored 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists to register another triple-double.
This was Harden’s 11th triple-double of the season whereas it was 56th of his glorious career. Harden is eighth on the list of most triple-doubles.
Meanwhile, this was the 100th time in Harden’s career when he had a 40-point game and thus he has become the fourth NBA player to achieve the landmark after legendary players like Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant.
Wilt Chamberlain had 271 matches in which he scored 40 or more points whereas Michael Jordan scored 40+ points in 173 matches. Late Kobe Bryant played 122 matches in which he scored 40 or more points.
Thus, Harden has joined an elite list of players. Meanwhile, Harden will aim to continue his good show for the Nets. The shooting guard is averaging 25.5 points per game in the ongoing season.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Nets is in second place in the Eastern Conference as they have won 28 matches whereas they have lost 13 games. The Nets will look to continue their sublime form in the season as they have played at the top of their game.
