LA Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has heaped praise on his talisman, LeBron James. Vogel stated that LeBron is fantastic on both sides of the ball and he sets the tone for them with his voice as he is a perfect leader within the group. King James is well known for his leadership qualities and gets the best out of his teammates.
James has missed 12 matches in the ongoing season for LA Lakers and his absence has been clearly felt. However, James has made a fine comeback as he scored 30 points against Boston Celtics and played a key role in his team’s 117-102 win on Tuesday night.
In fact, James has one of the best Basketball IQs in the world and makes great use of his experience to deliver the goods. Akron Hammer is an ardent student of the game and does his homework to get the best out of himself and his teammates when he steps on the court.
Vogel said in the post-match interview, Vogel: “LeBron is fantastic on both sides of the ball. He sets the tone for us with his voice. He’s our QB on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he’s barking out commands, getting guys in the right spots and knowing our schemes down to a tee better than anyone on the floor.”
On the other hand, former Lakers player Quinn Cook also lauded James for his game awareness in an article for Sports Illustrated.
“He knows everybody. He could be the last guy on the bench on the team, but he knows he’s left-handed, he’s a shooter, don’t go under him, he’s a driver, stuff like that. He pays attention to the game, he watches the game, and he studies. He helps us get prepared just with his voice.”
James has all the experience under his belt and he knows how to get the best out of himself. The 36-year old has been a consistent performer for LA Lakers over the years and he will look to continue his good show.
LA Lakers will next face Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.
