LeBron James added another milestone to his historic career Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 127-113 at home.
James finished with 14 points, five rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block, shooting 4-of-8 from the field and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc in 31 minutes. While the stat line was modest by his standards, the night carried far greater significance.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the victory marked the 1,229th win of James’ career, allowing him to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most wins in NBA history. The achievement places him at the top of a list that also includes Tim Duncan, Robert Parish and Karl Malone.
The milestone came during a strong stretch for Los Angeles, which has now won four consecutive games and 15 of its last 17. The team holds a 50-26 record through 76 games and sits third in the Western Conference, while also posting a 26-12 mark at home.
The night also featured additional milestones across the roster. Rui Hachimura reached 5,000 career points, while Luka Doncic surpassed 15,000 career points.
Head coach JJ Redick added to the significance of the win, earning his 100th career regular-season victory. According to reporting cited by Ryan Ward, Redick became the 16th coach in NBA history to win at least 50 games in each of his first two seasons, joining notable Lakers coaches such as Pat Riley, Paul Westhead and Butch van Breda Kolff.
On the other side, Cleveland fell to 47-29, placing fourth in the Eastern Conference. Despite the loss, the Cavaliers have won seven of their last 10 games and hold a 23-15 record on the road.
For James, the night served as another reminder of his sustained excellence and longevity, as he continues to redefine what is possible deep into his career.
