Dallas Mavericks’ talisman Luka Doncic has made it a habit of making and breaking new records. Doncic came up with another all-around performance for his team as the Mavericks defeated that Atlanta Hawks by the skin of their teeth, 118-117. This was Mavericks’ third win in a row.
The Slovenian scored 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists and top-scored for his team in all three categories. Thus, the prodigy youngster recorded another triple-double. This was the 32nd triple-double for Doncic as he continued his sublime form.
As a result, Doncic has broken former Lakers legend Magic Johnson record. As per ESPN Stats and Info, “Luka Doncic finished with 28 points, 10 assists & 10 rebounds tonight in a win vs the Hawks. It’s his 32nd career triple-double, passing Magic Johnson for the 2nd most all-time by a player in his first three seasons.”
In fact, Doncic is averaging 27.8 points per game in the ongoing season. However, there is no doubt that Doncic has been the lone warrior for Dallas Mavericks. The franchise has been struggling to give their best and they rely heavily on the shoulders of Doncic.
The Mavericks have thus far won 12 out of the 26 matches they have played and they will have their work cut in the rest of the season if they are to qualify for the playoff stages. Currently, they are placed at the 12th position in the Western Conference standings.
On the other hand, Doncic’s teammate Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t been at his best since he returned to the team after his knee injury. Ergo, there is no doubt that the Mavericks will need to come up with a collective effort in the coming matches.
Dallas Mavericks will next face New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
