NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith has picked GSW talisman, Steph Curry, as the face of the NBA over LeBron James. Smith reasoned that Curry is winning whereas James is not. Both of these veteran players are in red-hot form in the ongoing season. However, Golden State Warriors has savored more success than LA Lakers this season.
Golden State Warriors is in second place in the Western Conference standings as they have a 42-17 record while LA Lakers are struggling at the ninth position in the West with a 27-31 record. Meanwhile, James is averaging 29.1 ppg in the ongoing season whereas Steph Curry is averaging 25.8 ppg.
James hasn’t yet received the support from the rest of his teammates whereas Curry has come up with impressive performances.
Chef was at his absolute best in the All-Star Game for Team James as he scored 50 points, including historic 16 three-pointers. On the other hand, James scored 24 points and also the match-winning shot to help his team win the contest against Team Durant by 163-160 on Sunday.
NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith, in a conversation with Kendrick Perkins and Molly Qerim on ESPN’s First Take, “I believe it’s Steph Curry, by default almost, he is winning and LeBron is not. That’s really what this comes down to for me. If you want to modify it to a certain degree, LeBron James is the face of the league for what he does off the court. To me, I am speaking specifically of on the court. Steph Curry is just as box-office”.
There is no doubt that both Steph Curry and LeBron James are huge players in the NBA and their stature in the game is second to none. Both of these veterans will look to keep going strong for their respective teams.
