Golden State Warriors have veered off the track in the last few matches as they have lost six out of their eight matches. GSW suffered a huge loss of 129-114 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night and their poor form continued in March.
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr admitted that there was a breakdown in their connections, which he noticed for the first time in the season. The Dubs were not able to show a fight against the Timberwolves and it was not their best performance.
“This was the first time I sensed there was a breakdown in our connection, and that has to be an exception rather than a rule,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “So that’s the most important thing for me looking ahead.”
Kerr feels the chemistry within the players was missing and it was disappointing for them.
“[I saw it] all over the place,” said Kerr. “It’s not just a tangible thing as much as it is just a feeling and an energy — a collective spirit. I didn’t like the energy or the spirit tonight.”
On the other hand, Stephen Curry top-scored for GSW with 34 points but his performance went in vain. Curry feels they should be more in sync with each other.
“We have a lot of different rotations and lineups and we try to make adjustments on the fly,” Curry said. “We have to be more in sync as a five-man unit.
Meanwhile, Draymond Green has now missed 24 matches due to injury whereas Klay Thompson’s minutes on the court are restricted since he has made his return. Curry added that the team will be seen at full throttle if there aren’t many changes.
“We’ve had a lot of shuffling,” Curry said. “It’s not an excuse for how we’re playing, but we are built as a full team. And until we get that, I’m not sure if we’ll see our full ceiling, but we have to do the little things in the meantime to keep building confidence.”
GSW will next face Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.
