LA Lakers talisman LeBron James is not concerned regarding the minutes he is playing on the court and stated that he will do whatever it takes to help his team win. There has been a lot of talk regarding maintaining LeBron James’ workload as the veteran player battled through injuries in the initial phase of the season and he has also turned 37 recently.
However, James has proven on many occasions that age is just a number and he has been at his lethal best in the last couple of weeks. James top-scored with 31 points against Sacramento Kings, leading his team to a 122-114 win on Tuesday night. King James shot 12-26 field goals and converted four of his five free throws and thus struggled a bit with his shooting.
The linchpin also added five assists and as many assists to his ledger. In fact, James was at his absolute best in the final quarter as he scored 14 of his 31 points in the last 12 minutes. Furthermore, Malik Monk gave support to LeBron James as he added 24 points. Monk scored 11 of his 24 points in the last seven minutes of the game as the Lakers bounced back in style.
The Lakers now have a 20-19 win-loss record and they have won four of their last five games. Meanwhile, James played for 36 minutes but he wants to help his team win at all cost.
“I’ve always put myself in a position where I can play heavy minutes and do whatever it takes to help this team win,” James said.
“I feel pretty good; I don’t feel like that I’m playing 37 minutes a game or whatever. And it’s also not the record for me so. I had a season where I averaged 42.5,” James said.
James is averaging a crazy 35.3 ppg in the last seven matches as he is playing at the beast level. LA Lakers will next face Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
