LA Lakers talisman LeBron James feels a fully fit Anthony Davis is going to add value to the team whenever he is going to return to the side. Davis has missed the team’s last 16 games as he suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee in December and hasn’t played since the last five weeks.
However, Davis has been upgraded to questionable for the Lakers match against Miami Heat on Sunday. The linchpin was ruled out after he collided with Minnesota Timberwolves’ Jaden McDaniels and suffered a blow to his left knee.
As expected the Lakers have deeply missed his services as they have gone 7-9 without him. LeBron James has been a lone warrior for the team in the last month and he will want to see his partner back in the team.
“I mean obviously rhythm is always what’s most important in his health. Let’s say health first and then rhythm. Whenever AD is ready, we’re going to love that, that’s for sure,” LeBron James said of Davis on Friday. “I mean he’s one of our biggest guns that we have, and having him on the floor, it just creates so much for us offensively and defensively, able to do so much more. But his health is what’s most important, and once we know that he’s healthy, he knows that he’s healthy, we get him back on the floor and then we start getting his wind and his rhythm.”
Meanwhile, Davis was averaging 23.3 points on 52.1% shooting, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.2 steals before he suffered a blow to his knee.
Davis has been a big player for LA Lakers and he has provided great support to LeBron James. However, the linchpin has been troubled by a plethora of injuries which has kept him out of the action in the last two seasons.
If Davis makes his return against Miami Heat on Sunday, he will look to hit the ground running for the Lakers. Davis averaged 25 points and 12.8 rebounds in the 2020 NBA Finals against the same team and had clinched his maiden NBA championship.
