The Washington Wizards had won only six matches and lost 17 at one stage. However, the Wizards have been able to turn the tables in the last two weeks. The franchise has won seven out of their last eight matches and they have been on a roll. Thus, they have kept themselves in the playoff race.
Earlier the performances of their talisman players – Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook – were going in vain but now they are coming up with collective efforts for the team. Both the players continued their red-hot form as the Wizards won against the Phoenix Suns by 128-112 on Tuesday.
Bradley Beal once again top-scored for the team with 34 points in the match. Furthermore, Beal was well supported by Russell Westbrook, who scored 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists, to add another triple-double in his bag.
This was the 46th time when Westbrook scored a triple-double through three quarters. Over the last 25 seasons, James Harden has the next most with 13 triple-doubles. Thus, Westbrook has left Harden miles behind him in this special record.
Meanwhile, Westbrook had made headlines from 2016 to 2019 when he played at the top of his game while playing for Oklahoma City Thunder. He was averaging 26.8 points, 10.6 rebs, 10.4 assists, and 1.8 steals during that period.
The 32-year old will look to continue his good show in the coming matches and he will aim to continue supporting Bradley Beal. The duo has formed a potent partnership and they have been instrumental in the success of the team. The Wizards have won 13 whereas lost 18 matches in the ongoing season.
The Washington Wizards will next lock horns against Utah Jazz on Thursday.
