LA Lakers talisman LeBron James was not at all happy with his team’s performance against the reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks. Lakers and James suffered another loss in the ongoing season as Bucks crushed them by 131-116 a the Crypto.com arena on Tuesday night. In fact, at one stage Giannis Antetokounmpo’s team had a 30-point lead, which revealed the day and night difference between the two teams.
James admitted that they are currently not on par with the Bucks and he is hopeful that his team can up their game for the rest of the season. The talisman top-scored with 27 points while Anthony Davis scored 22 points but their efforts went in vain.
Lakers have been struggling with their team’s chemistry throughout the ongoing season and they currently have a 26-29 record. Thus, they have slipped to the ninth position in the Western Conference standings. James stated that they have to go out there on the court and come up with more collective effort.
James said: “It doesn’t matter what lineups are out there, you’ve got to go out there and do your job… We’re all trying to figure it out. Including the coaching staff.”
James was brutally honest in his assessment of the team’s performance. Here is how his conversation with a reporter went.
Reporter: I know it’s a regular-season game, but against the defending champs, does this one hit differently, especially since you were looking up at them and they had a 30-point lead on you guys?
LeBron: Does it hit differently in the sense of what?
Reporter: Does it tell you something deeper about your team? LeBron: Yeah. It tells me we ain’t on their level. I mean, I probably could have told you that before the game. Reporter: Can you reach that level?
LeBron: Where they are right now? I don’t know. Do I think we can reach the level where Milwaukee is right now … um, no. Is that what you wanted me to hear? No.
Reporter: So, you mean, ‘right now’ can you can’t do that? But can you reach that this season?
LeBron: I would hope so. But we can’t get to where they are right now. I mean, they’re the defending champions for a reason. I guarantee if you would’ve asked teams coming out of the bubble if they could get to the level that we were playing at after winning a championship, they would say the same thing.
