Former Indian Test opener Aakash Chopra has picked next-generation Fab Four batters after the recently concluded Test series between India and Sri Lanka. Chopra included two Indian batters in his list while making the prediction.
Earlier, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson are known as the Fab Four of the cricketing world.
Chopra picked India’s ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill as the number one pick. Gill has amassed 3379 runs in 67 ODI matches at an impressive average of 59.28.
The flamboyant batter has also accumulated 3043 runs in 43 Test matches at an average of 42.86. Gill has scored 1024 runs in 17 innings of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle at an average of 68.26. He scored 754 runs in five Test matches on the England tour in 2025 at an average of 75.40.
Chopra picked India’s Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal as his second pick. Jaiswal has shown all the promise to be a three-format batter for India but currently doesn’t get his chances in the white-ball formats. The left-hander has scored 2612 runs in 31 Test matches at an average of 47.49. In his last ODI match against Afghanistan, Jaiswal scored a fine knock of 110 runs off just 86 deliveries.
The renowned commentator picked England’s white-ball skipper Harry Brook as his third player for the next-gen Fab Four. Brook has scored 3535 runs in 40 Test matches, whereas he has gathered 1385 and 1532 runs in T20I and ODI formats, respectively.
The former Delhi cricketer picked New Zealand’s batter Rachin Ravindra as his final batter. Ravindra has 1865 runs in 24 Test matches, whereas he has scored 1424 runs in 39 ODI matches.
