It was not long ago that Afghanistan played a one-off Test match against India, and the two teams also played a three-match ODI series. This time, Afghanistan will strangely host India in India for a three-match series in their favorite format.

India has named a full-strength squad for the series, which shows they don’t want to be complacent after they were stunned by Ireland. Jasprit Bumrah has been named in the squad but his selection is subject to fitness clearance. Furthermore, selection of Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy is subject to fitness clearance.

Harshit Rana has been ruled out with another injury, and Yash Thakur has replaced him in the squad. 

After losing six T20Is on the UK tour, India was able to get the much-needed win against Zimbabwe. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had shone in the series with 151 runs in three matches. The left-hander would look to continue his good form against Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson has been added to the squad after he missed the last T20I series against Zimbabwe.

On the other hand, Afghanistan will begin a new era under Ibrahim Zadran’s captaincy. The likes of Noor Ahmad, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz will hold the key for Afghanistan.
