The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a ₹58 crore cash reward for Team India after its ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph. The reward recognizes the efforts of players, coaching staff, and selectors in securing yet another major international title.
Led by Rohit Sharma, India delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament, securing four convincing victories before clinching the title against New Zealand in the final. The team showcased its consistency with a six-wicket win over both Bangladesh and Pakistan, a 44-run victory against New Zealand in the group stage, and a four-wicket triumph over Australia in the semifinals.
India’s success in the ICC limited-overs format has been remarkable. The team has won 23 of its last 24 completed matches in ICC men’s tournaments. Its only loss in this period came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, breaking a 10-match winning streak in that competition.
Since that heartbreak, India has bounced back spectacularly, completing unbeaten campaigns at both the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, India has built an incredible record of 27 wins and just three losses in ICC limited-overs tournaments, making him one of the most successful white-ball captains in the game’s history.
BCCI President Roger Binny praised India’s continued dominance, highlighting back-to-back ICC titles, including the ICC Under-19 Women’s World Cup, as proof of the country’s strong cricketing ecosystem.
BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that India’s top ranking in white-ball cricket is well deserved.
With this victory, India further cements its status as the world’s premier white-ball cricket team. The focus now shifts to the next major challenge as Rohit Sharma and his squad aim to extend their golden run on the global stage.
