The seventh edition of the T20I World Cup will take place in Australia from October 18, where 16 teams will aim for glory. T20 is the most unpredictable form of the game and we know that any match can turn on to its head. However, the T20I showpiece is under dark clouds due to the ongoing coronavirus. Ergo, only if the situation improves, the ICC and Cricket Australia will be able to host the tournament.
We at Dafa news predict three teams which can go all the way in the 2020 T20I World Cup.
Australia will be hosting the events and thus the team will like to make the most of the home conditions. In fact, Australia doesn’t yet have a T20 World Cup in their impressive cabinet of trophies and they would like to fill in the void. The team had produced their best result back in 2010 edition when they ended as the second best to arch-rivals England.
Australia have explosive players like David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Chris Lynn who can change a match in a matter of deliveries. The hosts will also have a potent bowling battery with the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa.
England will have the confidence under their belt after winning their maiden 50-overs World Cup. Eoin Morgan has led the team from the front and England have some great power-hitters in their side.
England had won the trophy back in 2010 and they would aim to repeat the same after a decade. Players like Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Adil Rashid and Ben Stokes will be crucial in the success of the team. England have played some fearless cricket in the recent past and they will be a side to look out for in the T20 World Cup.
The Indian team have been consistent performers in the last mega events of ICC. However, they have not been able to cross the last hurdles but Virat Kohli will be determined to lead his team to glory in the T20I World Cup. In fact, there is no doubt that the team has all the talent to go all the way in the tournament.
Players like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Jasprit Bumrah and skipper Virat Kohli himself could be instrumental in the success of the team. The Men in Blue have not won a big event since the 2013 Champions Trophy and they would aim to turn the tide in Australia.
