Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav. Chopra said that SKY is India’s very own Mr 360 degrees batter. Former South African batter AB de Villiers was nicknamed a 360-degree batter as he had the ability to play all around the ground.
Suryakumar Yadav has also shown the same skills as he can play all of his shots around the circle. The linchpin has the ability to play according to the field.
The right-hander’s batting prowess was on display in the third T20I against England when he scored a fine knock of 117 runs off just 55 balls and became the fifth Indian batter to score a hundred in the T20I format. The talisman scored 14 fours and six sixes in his brilliant knock against the Three Lions.
Yadav played all around the ground as he was at his absolute best. However, the 31-year-old was the lone warrior as he didn’t get support from the other end and thus his efforts went in vain.
SKY has been a consistent performer in the shortest format of the game and he has definitely made a case for himself in the Indian team. Suryakumar has scored 537 runs in 19 T20I matches at an impressive average of 38.36 and a whirlwind strike rate of 177.23.
“Surya’s knock was not just bravado but also a lot about the game, a sense of knowing where the fielders were and where the bowlers were likely to bowl. He’s India’s very own Mr 360 degrees,” Chopra said exclusively on the Koo app.
There is no doubt that Suryakumar Yadav has been in top form and he will look to continue the same in the three-match ODI series against England.
Yadav has grown in confidence and his performances have been up to the mark in the last couple of years. The right-hander will look to keep delivering for the team and come up with his best.
The first ODI between England and India will be played on Tuesday at Kennington Oval, London.
