The two powerhouses in T20I cricket – England and India – will face each other in the first T20I at the Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, on Wednesday. India was recently stunned by Ireland and the visitors will want to bounce back strongly against the English team.
Barring the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, India is playing with a full-strength team but they were not able to bring their best against Ireland. However, the conditions are expected to be more batting-friendly in England.
Meanwhile, England will return to T20I cricket for the first time since their seven-run semifinal defeat to India at the T20 World Cup.
