Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali lauded Indian ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his consistent performances. Ali feels Bumrah can deceive the batters with his awkward action even if he is playing on a cemented pitch. Bumrah has a slingshot action and he can hurry the top batters with his extra pace and accuracy.
Bumrah has performed consistently in all three formats of the game and he has been India’s pack leader. The ace pacer bagged 15 wickets at an average of 8.26 and an economy rate of 4.17 in the eight matches of the T20I showpiece and thus played a key role in the team’s success.
Bumrah’s biggest strength is his adaptability to any pitch and he reads every track like an expert. The fast bowler is equally lethal at both end of the innings and he has consistently delivered for the team.
Basit Ali said on his YouTube Channel, “Even if you play Bumrah on a cement pitch, his action is so awkward he can deceive the batters. That is the truth. That is what I call him Boom Boom. Not the rest of the bowlers. The rest of them depend on their form and rhythm.”
“He comes in takes a wicket and then picks three in his next spell. He is very deceptive, his slower one is accurate. Usually, the deliveries you bowl in white-ball cricket, he picks wickets on such deliveries in the Test format. It is special.”
Meanwhile, Bumrah is picked for the first test match against Bangladesh. Bumrah is going to hold the key against the in-form Tigers.
India squad for first Test: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal.
