India’s talented batter Rinku Singh shared a post on his social media account, expressing his gratitude that he completed one year in International cricket after making his debut on 18th August 2023. Singh made his debut against Ireland at Dublin but didn’t get a chance to bat.
The left-hander scored a fine knock of 38 runs off just 21 balls in his second game and was awarded Player of the Match. Singh was included in India’s squad after an impressive run in IPL 2023 for Kolkata Knight Riders.
Rinku Singh scored 474 runs in 14 matches of IPL 2023 at an average of 59.23 and a strike rate of 149.53 and he was one of the biggest positives for KKR. The southpaw also scored four fifties in the season for KKR.
Rinku Singh wrote on his Instagram account, “One year since the dream that turned into reality. Grateful for every moment in blue. Jai Hind 🇮🇳💙.”
Meanwhile, Singh was part of India’s reserves for the T20 World Cup 2024 and many experts felt he was unlucky to miss out on the squad. The left-hander scored 60 runs in four innings in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe after the T20 World Cup triumph.
Singh also bowled a fine penultimate over in the third T20I against Sri Lanka, conceding only three runs and taking two wickets to help India take the match into Super Over.
The left-hander was also left out of the Duleep trophy squads by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel. Singh has scored 3173 runs in 47 first-class matches at an average of 54.70 and thus his omission was surprising.
