England skipper Harry Brook says they have done a lot of digging behind the scenes to have their tactics in place for a prodigy batter like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Sooryavanshi has been the cynosure of all eyes since he smashed 776 runs in 16 matches of IPL 2026 at a blistering strike rate of 237.30.
Brook said the youngster is an incredible talent and has already achieved a lot despite being only 15. Sooryavanshi also recently scored a magnum opus knock of 94 runs off just 29 deliveries in the tri series final against Sri Lanka.
Brook said that England have carefully done their homework on Indian players to keep them at bay in the T20I series.
“He looks like a very, very talented player, obviously done extremely well in the last year, year and a half and we’ve got our tactics and and hopefully they work and there’s been a lot of digging behind the scenes to see what we can do to try and stop them from playing their best cricket,” Brook told reporters in the pre-match press conference ahead of the first T20I.
On the other hand, Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer remained tight-lipped on India’s usage of Sooryavanshi for the upcoming series. The youngster didn’t make his debut against Ireland but former India players such as Sunil Gavaskar, Mohammad Kaif and Aakash Chopra have backed him to play the opening game against England.
Sooryavanshi has certainly shown the skills to go a long way in his career and he is definitely one to watch out for.
The first T20I between India and England will be played on Wednesday.
