Indian batter Sanju Samson has said he tries to control the controllable and put up his best efforts. Samson was not picked for the Sri Lanka ODIs despite scoring a century in the last ODI he played against South Africa while playing away. The Kerala batter had scored 108 runs off just 114 balls against the Proteas.
Meanwhile, Samson failed to score a single run in the two T20Is against Sri Lanka as he was dismissed for ducks in the second and third match.
Samson hasn’t been able to grab his opportunities with both hands despite receiving his chances. Thus, he has received sporadic chances as he hasn’t been consistent enough.
Sanju Samson said at an event, “I will just go and play whenever they select it. That’s it! End of the day, our team is doing well. I am the kind of person who believes in a higher purpose. I just try to take things positively under controllable circumstances and put up the efforts.”
On the other hand, Sanju Samson further added that he was happy with Rajasthan Royals’ performance in IPL 2024. The franchise finished at third place in the league stage but their journey in the tournament ended when they suffered a 36-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier.
Samson was able to lead from the front as he scored 531 runs in 15 matches at an impressive average of 48.27.
Meanwhile, Samson was part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning squad but didn’t play a single match as Rishabh Pant was preferred ahead of him. After the T20I showpiece, Samson scored 70 runs in two innings against Zimbabwe in a five-match T20I series, which India won by 4-1.
