India’s left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh revealed his motive is to quickly adapt to the match situation, track, and the opposition to get the best out of himself. Singh delivered a match-winning performance as he returned with impressive figures of 3-14 in 3.5 overs he bowled against Bangladesh at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Gwalior on Sunday.
Singh said he has been trying to make minor changes to his run-up and he is trying to explore and learn new things in his young career. The left-arm pacer accounted for Bangladesh openers – Litton Kumer Das and Parvez Hossain Emon and then dismissed Mustafizur Rahman in the final over.
Singh was awarded Player of the Match for his fine bowling show and he was delighted to play an instrumental role in the team’s success.
Arshdeep Singh said in the post-match presentation, “There’s breeze from the end I was bowling. I didn’t get the wicket the way I wanted but the ball is coming good from the hand. It’s minor changes in the run-up, in the wrist, I keep learning and exploring things. The experience is there, the more you play the better you get. Everyone bowled well, especially Mayank was very good. I guess the best thing in this format is how well you can adapt to the situation, to the wicket and to the ground dimensions as well. My motive is how well I can adapt and how quickly I can adapt.”
On the other hand, Mayank Yadav made an impressive T20I debut as he returned with 1-21 in his four overs quota. Furthermore, Varun Chakravarthy bagged 3-31 after making a comeback to the Indian team after three long years.
The second match of the series will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Wednesday.
