India’s former World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has revealed that he is a fan of Ravindra Jadeja’s game as the all-rounder plays without pressure.
Jadeja has been a consistent performer in the last few years for the Indian team and he mostly ticks the right boxes in all three departments of the game.
Jadeja has significantly improved his batting in the last couple of years and he has delivered while batting down the order in all three forms of the game. The southpaw had scored a majestic knock of unbeaten 175 runs in the first innings of the first Test match against Sri Lanka at Mohali.
Furthermore, he also scalped nine wickets in the Test match and he was only one wicket away from becoming the first player to score more than 150 runs in an innings and take 10 wickets in the Test match. Thus, this fine performance helped Jadeja in claiming the top position in the ICC all-rounders rankings.
“I love Ravindra Jadeja’s game among the new cricketers because he plays without pressure. He enjoys cricket. That’s why he is good at bowling as well as batting. He also does a great job in fielding. I believe that nothing can be done properly under pressure. If you take pressure in the field of cricket, then your performance will be bad,” said Kapil Dev while inaugurating North India’s first fully active joint replacement Robot at Sarvodaya Hospital in Faridabad.
Meanwhile, Jadeja returned with scores of 4 and 14 in the second Test match at Bengaluru against the Island nation. But, he has gone wicketless thus far in the pink-ball Test match.
Asked about his favorite venue, the former talismanic all-rounder Kapil Dev picked Chepauk as his best ground. In 11 Tests that he played at Chepauk, he amassed 707 runs with two fine centuries and took 40 wickets.
“I can proudly say that Chepauk is one of the grounds where I never failed,” said Haryana Hurricane.
Kapil, who is regarded as one of the best all-rounders India has ever produced, lauded the initiative of the Joint Replacement robot.
“It is absolutely amazing to see such high-end Robotic Medical Technology in the state of Haryana. I am sure it will immensely benefit patients in the entire region who require critical surgeries such as a total knee replacement with optimum outcomes.”
