India legend Sunil Gavaskar heaped praise on Ravi Bishnoi who made his International debut in the T20I series against West Indies.
Bishnoi was impressive as he bowled in the right areas and did a fine job for the team. The leg-spinner scalped three wickets in three matches and bowled with a parsiminous economy rate of 6.33.
Bishnoi made an impressive debut as he returned with bowling figures of 2-17. Thus, he was awarded the Player of the Match in his maiden match and he was able to hit the ground running.
Meanwhile, the Little Master was impressed with the fact that Bishnoi was able to keep his nerves in check and was able to bounce back stronger whenever he was hit for a boundary or a six. Thus, the youngster was able to correct his length and did a fine job for the team.
It was noted that Bishnoi was mostly bowling the wrong ones and he is also quicker through the air.
“I will rate him very high because the way he kept his cool. There were couple of overs where he got hit for fours but again the way he came. His comeback deliveries were always very good. Whenever he was hit for a boundary or clattered for a six, the next couple of balls were a dot balls. That is an indication that he is learning very quickly by correcting his length,” Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.
Bishnoi has definitely shown the skills to go a long way in his career and he would aim to continue the good show in the series against Sri Lanka.
Bishnoi is expected to get better with more experience and he will look to pick the brains of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.
The first T20I between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Lucknow on Thursday.
