India will lock horns against New Zealand in the fourth T20I at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The hosts have already taken an impregnable lead of 3-0 in the series and would want to carry the good form in the remaining two games ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Pressure is building on Indian opener Sanju Samson, who has returned with scores of 10, 6, and 0 in the series. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan has grabbed his chance with both hands, returning with scores of 8, 76, and 28.
With Tilak Varma set to miss the remaining two games, Samson will get two more chances to get back into form and set talks about his place in the starting XI to bed.
Ravi Bishnoi also played in the previous game, which raises doubt on Washington Sundar’s availability for the T20 World Cup.
New Zealand haven’t been at their best with both bat and ball in the first three games and if the visitors can win these two remaining matches, it would do them a world of good before the T20I showpiece.
The Kiwis are yet to find their perfect combination and they would want to get some confidence back in the penultimate game of the series.
