India will lock horns against South Africa in the second T20I at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Thursday. The hosts won the opening T20I by a mammoth margin of 101 runs and they would want to carry the good show.
On a challenging wicket, Hardik Pandya showed why he is one of the best seam-bowling all-rounders in the world. Pandya smashed a blistering knock of 59 runs off just 28 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes to help India post 175 runs on the board and he is once again going to hold the key.
Furthermore, India came up with a collective bowling effort as Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel bagged two wickets apiece to deliver the goods for the team.
On the other hand, South Africa bowled decently in the first 10 overs before Hardik Pandya took the game away from the tourists. But the Proteas were bowled out for a paltry score of 74 runs and they would look to come up with an improved batting show.
This would be the first time that Mullanpur will host a T20I match. The track is expected to be batters’ friend and the spinners will come into action.
