India will take on South Africa in the final and deciding ODI at Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The Proteas won the second game at Raipur by four wickets to level the series. The visitors were able to chase down 359 runs after Aiden Markram scored a fine century.
Markram had the rub of the green on his side as he was dropped when he was on 53 by Yashasvi Jaiswal. The South African opener went on to score 110 runs off just 98 balls. Furthermore, Matthew Breetzke and Dewald Brevis scored fine centuries for the Proteas.
Meanwhile, India was able to post 358 runs on the board but the bowlers could not defend it. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Virat Kohli scored 105 and 102 runs respectively and the duo also added 195 runs off 156 balls for the third wicket. KL Rahul also scored a fine knock of 66 runs off 43 balls but Ravindra Jadeja could only manage 24 runs off 27 balls.
India was sloppy in the field and they would need to come up with a better performance. Moreover, the bowlers will also need to pull up their socks.
Both teams might play with the same playing XI but the hosts can think of adding Nitish Kumar Reddy in place of Washington Sundar
