After taking an impregnable lead of 2-0 in the series, India would take on the West Indies in the dead rubber contest at New Chandigarh on Saturday. The hosts made light work of the run chase when they were chasing a par score of 406 in the second ODI at Guwahati.
A total of 811 runs were scored by two teams, including four centuries and one double century. The pitch was a belter and the bowlers will hope for some respite when they travel to Chandigarh.
The PCA International Cricket Stadium is known for early movement for fast bowlers and increasing grip for spinners as the game goes on and bowlers would want some assistance after a horror day at the office on Wednesday.
Shubaman Gill and Rohit Sharma scored 233 and 101 runs respectively in the second game and the duo took the visitors’ bowlers to the cleaners.
Bowling units of both sides have looked toothless and would want to comeback strongly. India would definitely want to play Mohammed Siraj after Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, there have been positives for the West Indies too as their batters have batted with authority. John Campbell, Amir Jangoo and Shai Hope scored fine centuries and would look to carry their rich vein of form.
