Australian talismanic batter Marnus Labuschagne tipped India’s fast bowling quartet as very good. India is all set to take on Australia in the upcoming five-match Border-Gavaskar Test series. India had won the last two Test series against Australia while playing Downunder by 2-1 and they will be determined to once again prove their mettle.
Meanwhile, India has solid fast bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj. While Bumrah and Shami bagged 21 and 16 wickets respectively in four Test matches on the 2018-19 tour of Australia, Siraj and Bumrah picked 13 and 11 wickets respectively in three Test matches on the previous tour.
Labuschagne, who top-scored in the 2020-21 Test series with 426 runs in four matches, said on Star Sports, “India’s fast bowling quartet is very good, which is really what brings them in Australian conditions and make them such a tough team to beat in Australian conditions. Hopefully, this summer we can turn the tables on India and put them under real pressure.”
Bumrah is going to be India’s pack leader in the Australian conditions and he has scalped 32 wickets in seven Test matches in Australia.
Labuschagne, who is going to hold the key for Australia, is looking forward to the much-anticipated series.
“Both India and Australia love the game and they are at the top of their game at the moment. The energy when these two teams play together is always high. There’s always high anticipation. It doesn’t matter where we are playing, if it’s in England, Australia or India. It’s always a tough contest.”
Meanwhile, India’s pace battery has taken giant strides in the last decade and they are going to hold the key against Australia.
The opening Test match between India and Australia will be played at Perth from November 22 onwards.
