IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals, Game 9 – Match Prediction

The five-time champions Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on Saturday.

Mumbai Indians had lost their opening clash against Delhi Capitals and they would want to get their maiden win of the season.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals had got off to a winning start as they convincingly defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 61 runs. The inaugural champions had come up with a collective batting effort against Orange Army with Sanju Samson leading from the front.

Subsequently, Rajasthan Royals also came up with a great bowling show as Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna were right on the money in their respective opening spells. RR have a solid bowling line-up and they would look to continue the good show.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians had done well to post 177 runs against Delhi Capitals with Ishan Kishan scoring a fine knock of 81 runs. However, Rohit Sharma-led team will want to come up with a better bowling show. MI’s gun fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had a off day at the office and he would to bounce back stronger.

In fact, MI had their noses in front against Delhi Capitals but Axar Patel, Lalit Yadav and Shardul Thakur were able to get their team over the line.

One positive for Mumbai Indians is the fact Surayakumar Yadav has joined the team and it will be interesting to note if he will play.

Match Prediction: Mumbai Indians will enter the contest as favorites against Rajasthan Royals.
