Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Jason Holder was full of praise for the fast bowling duo of Mohsin and Avesh Khan. Holder said that the young pair have consistently performed under pressure on the big stage and have grown in confidence.
The duo have played a vital role in the team’s success and have been instrumental in helping them qualify for the playoffs.
Mohsin has impressed with his variations and the left-arm seamer can bowl above 145 kmph consistently to breathe down the neck of the opposition batters. The lanky pacer has scalped 13 wickets in eight matches at an average of 13.23 and an economy rate of 5.93. Khan has bowled accurately in the PowerPlay as well as the death overs.
On the other hand, Avesh Khan has also continued his good form from the last season. The right-arm seamer has snared 17 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 21.88 and an economy rate of 8.51. Thus, both the Khans have been brilliant for Lucknow Super Giants.
Jason Holder said while talking to Sportskeeda, “Both Avesh and Mohsin have been outstanding in their own right. They’ve shown a lot of maturity, which is pleasing for two young fast-bowlers. They are extremely confident and have consistently performed under pressure on the big stage. That’s the most promising thing about them. They are very composed, which bodes well for their future as well as the future of Indian cricket.”
Meanwhile, Jason Holder has also done a good job for Lucknow Super Giants as he has scalped 14 wickets in 12 matches. Holder is well known for his consistent performances as a Test all-rounder however he has shown improvement in his game in the white-ball format in the recent past.
Speaking on the same, Holder said, “In white-ball cricket, I’ve worked very hard to develop my all-round skills, particularly my bowling. I’ve spent a lot of time working on my variations, which has improved my death bowling massively. I’m also trying to be more versatile with the bat, playing the dual role of building and finishing an innings. For me, these are the key ingredients for being successful in white-ball cricket.”
On the other hand, LSG won nine matches out of the 14 league stage games to finish at the third position in the points table. LSG will face RCB in the Eliminator at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday.
