IPL 2022: You always backed throughout our season – Virat Kohli gives gratitude to RCB fans

Royal Challengers Bangalore former skipper Virat Kohli wrote a heartfelt note on his social media account after the franchise was knocked out of the Tata Indian Premier League.

Kohli gave his gratitude to the team’s fans, who supported them throughout their campaign in the season.

Kohli also thanked the team management and the support staff for their backing throughout the 15th edition of the IPL. Meanwhile, RCB was eliminated after they lost the second qualifier against Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets. RCB could only manage 157 runs on the board and Jos Buttler scored a fine knock of 106 runs for RR.

Ergo, it was another disappointing end of the season for RCB as they could not go all the way to clinch their maiden IPL crown. However, there were a lot of positives for RCB and they will be happy to qualify for the playoff stages.

Virat Kohli wrote on Twitter: “Sometimes you win, and sometimes you don’t, but the 12th Man Army, you have been fantastic, always backing us throughout our campaign. You make cricket special. The learning never stops.”

“A big thanks to the management, support staff and all the people who are part of this amazing franchise. See you next season.”

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had a disappointing season for RCB as he scored 341 runs from his 16 appearances at an average of 22.73. Furthermore, his strike rate was below par as he scored at 115.99.

Kohli registered three ducks in the tournament and he will look to bounce back stronger. His best knock in the competition came against table-toppers Gujarat Titans in the team’s last league stage match, which was a do-or-die affair for them. Kohli went on to score a match-winning knock of 73 runs off just 54 balls in the run-chase of 160.

RCB will now look to come back stronger in the next season.
