Shaw has impressed with his flamboyant strokeplay and the prodigy batsman has scored 598 runs in 25 IPL matches. Chopra has backed Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer to bat one down. Iyer has scored 1681 runs in 62 IPL matches.
Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will bat at number four for Chopra. Pant has impressed with his pyrotechnics in the IPL and he has accumulated 1736 runs in 54 IPL matches. Chopra has picked West Indies’ Shimron Hetmyer to bat at number five. The southpaw has scored 90 runs in five IPL matches and he can hit the big shots.
Chopra has selected Alex Carey to bat at number six for Delhi Capitals. Carey would be making his IPL debut in the upcoming season and he would aim to deliver the goods for the team.
Chopra prefers to play Axar Patel ahead of Marcus Stoinis as he feels the former can provide four overs to the team. Patel has scalped 71 wickets in 82 matches and he has also scored 796 runs.
Former Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin will bat at number eight for Chopra. Ashwin will bring experience to the table for the Capitals and he has scalped 125 wickets in 139 IPL matches.
