Royal Challengers Bangalore leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal feels the team has a good chance of topping the points table in the second phase of the Indian Premier League.
RCB are placed at third place in the points table with five wins from seven matches after the first leg of the tournament.
RCB were coming up with collective efforts as the likes of Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel performed well for the team. Furthermore, Devdutt Padikkal had scored a century against Rajasthan Royals whereas Kohli had looked in decent form.
Chahal is pumped up to perform well in the second phase of the IPL and he is happy with the way he has been bowling in the nets.
“Obviously, the feeling was good. The heat was okay, I am happy with the way I bowled. I am pumped up, we are in a good position in the points table and we have a very good chance to stay at the top of the table,” said Chahal in a video posted on RCB’s official Youtube channel.
Meanwhile, Chahal has been struggling for form in the recent past and he was also excluded from India’s T20 World Cup squad. However, the leg-spinner from Haryana feels the Old Yuzi is back and expressed confidence before the resumption of the season.
“When you bowl well in the nets, you always feel good. I can say that the old Yuzi is back,” he said.
Chahal didn’t have a great run in the first phase of the IPL as he could only scalp four wickets in seven matches at a mundane average of 48.50 and an economy rate of 8.26. Thus, the leg-spinner will need to turn the tables in the second leg of the IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will resume their IPL campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on 20th September at Abu Dhabi.
