Former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli is facing the worst form of his career as he is struggling to get going in IPL 2022. Kohli has been dismissed on three golden ducks in the ongoing season, which has never happened in his glorious career.
In fact, it has been noticed that Kohli had given a wry smile after he was dismissed for the second duck in the season. Kohli has been dismissed on two golden ducks against Sunrisers Hyderabad as he has failed to achieve any kind of momentum. Kohli has scored 216 runs in 12 matches at an average of 19.64 and a strike rate of 111.34 and thus he isn’t at his best.
Speaking on RCB insider, “After the second duck, I realized what it feels like to be helpless. It has never happened to me in my career. That’s why I was smiling because it has been so long and I have seen everything this game has to show.”
On the other hand, Kohli has always spoken about cutting down the outside noise as the commentators and critics can’t be in his shoes.
“(On commentators and people questioning) They can’t be in my shoes. They can’t feel what I feel. They can’t live my life. They can’t live those moments. So you say how do you cut out the noise? You either mute the TV or don’t pay attention to what people are saying. I do both of these things.”
Despite Kohli’s poor form, RCB has a great chance to qualify for the playoffs as they have managed seven wins in 12 matches.
There is no doubt that Kohli’s form is imperative for RCB’s success and if the talisman can return to his best, it will be a big boost for the franchise at the business end of the tournament.
Kohli will also look to score his runs at a better strike rate as he is getting bogged down at one end. RCB will next face Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Friday.
