Former Australian speedster Brett Lee has praised Arjun Tendulkar’s recent form with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite the younger Tendulkar leaking runs in his previous outing, Lee has backed him to continue performing well.
Arjun, who is 23 years old, was taken to the cleaners in his previous game against the Punjab Kings, conceding 48 runs off three overs and featuring in an unwanted record. However, the pacer bounced back in the following game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, defending 20 runs off the final over and also taking a wicket.
Lee highlighted Arjun’s skills with the new ball, describing his swing as “outstanding,” and expressed his belief that the youngster is well-suited for the middle overs. He also backed Arjun to improve his death bowling as he gains more experience in the IPL. The former Australian cricketer advised Arjun to ignore criticism and take inspiration from his father, Sachin Tendulkar’s career, urging him to back himself and focus on his skills.
The Mumbai Indians’ newest pace addition has faced criticism for his bowling speed, with some questioning his ability to consistently hit speeds over 130 kmph. However, Lee believes that this is not an issue, stating that as Arjun gains more experience playing in high-pressure situations in front of big crowds, his pace will increase. He advised Arjun to stick to his process and ignore social media critics who have never bowled a ball in their lives.
In conclusion, Brett Lee praised Arjun Tendulkar’s form for the Mumbai Indians and backed him to continue performing well. He believes that the younger Tendulkar has all the talent and attributes to succeed in the IPL and encouraged him to focus on his skills and not to listen to critics.
