Chennai Super Kings will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the sixth game of the season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Monday. CSK had lost their opening match of the season against reigning champions Gujarat Titans by five wickets whereas LSG had made a winning start to their campaign after beating Delhi Capitals by 50 runs.
Thus, CSK will look to register their first win of the season whereas LSG will aim to carry a good start. CSK had received a lot of backing from the crowd while playing in Ahmedabad because of MS Dhoni. Thala will return to his fortress after almost four years and the scenes could be breathtaking at Chepauk.
Meanwhile, CSK will want to come up with a collective batting show. While Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 92 runs from 50 balls against GT, the rest of the batters managed only 86 runs from 70 balls. CSK will also want to make the most of their own conditions and spinners like Moeen Ali, Mitchell Santner and Ravindra Jadeja will hold the key for the hosts.
On the other hand, Kyle Mayers was brilliant for LSG in the opening game against DC as the left-hander smashed 73 runs. Furthermore, Mark Wood was all fire as he returned with figures of 5-14 to rock DC in their run-chase.
Match Prediction: Lucknow Super Giants might enter the contest as slight favorites against Chennai Super Kings.
