Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head is in the form of his life. Head continued his rich form against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Saturday. The Australian smashed a blistering knock of 89 runs off just 32 balls with the help of 11 fours and six maximums to help SRH post a massive score of 266 runs on the board.
Head brought up his fifty off just 16 balls as he batted at the top of his game. Abhishek Sharma also followed suit as he scored a whirlwind knock of 42 runs off just 12 balls. The left-handed pair added 125 runs in the Powerplay overs, which is the highest in IPL history, and made the most of the field restriction.
Head took the DC bowlers to the cleaners as he played with a long handle. The southpaw was awarded Player of the Match for his magical knock. Head revealed he follows a simple technique – try to stay relaxed and hit the ball.
Travis Head said in the post-match presentation, “ It’s nice, we are on a roll. The boys are playing well, very enjoyable. Just tried to stay relaxed and hit the ball. Need to keep things simple, and react to the balls. Very pleased to continue with the same form.”
On batting with Abhishek Sharma, Head said, “He plays well in the powerplay. He’s aggressive against spin, just let him do his things. Very enjoyable partnership with him.”
Head added, “It’s hard to pick which guys are going to be the (impact) sub, everyone can bowl and contribute. Nice to have a lot of options, we are able to score such high scores because of so many options available. It has also been difficult for our bowlers in the powerplay, but we did an exceptional job tonight. Just getting back into the swing of things (in the shortest format), nice to be batting top of the order.”
