Table-leaders Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against Mumbai Indians in the 60th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Saturday. Mumbai Indians have already being knocked out of the tournament after SRH defeated LSG by 10 wickets.
It has been a disappointing season for the Mumbai Indians as they have managed only four wins in 12 matches. The five-time champions won their previous match against SRH after Suryakumar Yadav played a blistering knock of 102 runs off just 51 balls.
The Hardik Pandya-led team could not come up with a collective effort throughout the season and it led to their downfall.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders’ openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine have played an instrumental role in the success of their team. While Salt has scored 429 runs in 11 matches, Narine has smashed 461 runs in as many games at a blistering strike rate of 183.67 in IPL 2024.
Both of these batters have adopted an aggressive approach and it has paid dividends for the team. Furthermore, KKR spinners – Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy – have done an amazing job for the team, picking 14 and 16 wickets respectively.
KKR can confirm their playoff berth by winning against Mumbai Indians.
