Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 25th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. MI have got off to a slow start but they were able to register their maiden win of the season in the last game against Delhi Capitals, registering a 29-run win.
For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, there are plenty of problems, which have surfaced in the first phase of the tournament. Their batting has been too reliant on the shoulders of their talisman – Virat Kohli whereas the bowling unit has looked toothless.
Kohli scored 113 runs in the last game against Rajasthan Royals but he didn’t get the support from the other end. RCB foreign players have failed to fire so far and they can think of adding Will Jacks to the playing XI. The franchise will need to sort out its issues before it gets too late for them as they have managed a solitary win in five matches.
On the other hand, there were plenty of positives for MI in their last game. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave a brisk start to their team whereas Romario Shepherd smashed 39 off just 10 balls to put his team in front. But MI bowlers will need to give more support to gun fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
Match Prediction: Mumbai Indians will enter the contest as favorites against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
