Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling coach James Franklin feels T. Natarajan is not far away from India’s comeback. Natarajan was in the reckoning for the T20 World Cup squad selection but Arshdeep Singh was picked ahead of him.
The SRH left-arm seamer has been in fine form in the ongoing IPL 2024, picking 15 wickets in eight matches at an average of 19.13 and thus has delivered for the team. Natarajan has executed his yorkers with great accuracy while bowling in the death overs for the Orange Army.
Natarajan is the highest wicket-taker for SRH so far in the ongoing season and he will look to continue the good show.
“There are just so many quality players in India. He can only control what he can. His great strength is obviously his yorker bowling. That is where he is a huge asset for us as a team,” Franklin said on the eve of SRH’s crunch game against MI at the Wankhede Stadium.
The former New Zealand all-rounder feels Natarajan will be able to get back into the Indian team if he keeps up the same form.
“If he keeps going the way he is going and can hold his form throughout the rest of this IPL, those sorts of conversations around India, they tend to take care of themselves. If he keeps performing, then getting back in that Indian side won’t be too far away from it,” Franklin added.
Natarajan has been right on the money and has done a terrific job for Pat Cummins. Meanwhile, SRH has won six out of the 10 games they have played in the ongoing season. The Orange Army will take on Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
