The El Clásico of IPL between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians was a one-sided contest when these two teams had recently met in Mumbai. CSK had smashed their arch-rivals by 103 runs after Sanju Samson scored a fine century, whereas MI were bowled out for 104 runs.
The two most successful teams will once again take on each other, this time at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Saturday. MI have managed only two wins in eight matches and their season is slipping away like sand slipping from a hand.
Hardik Pandya’s team posted a par score of 243 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game but could not defend the total. Jasprit Bumrah’s form is a cause of concern as the gun-fast bowler has looked toothless, which has never been the case.
Bowling has been a concern for MI, and they would need to deliver collectively against CSK.
CSK, on the other hand, have been too dependent on Sanju Samson and their batters have also let the team down. The five-time champions have managed three wins in eight games, and they would need to be at their best from here on, to keep their playoff dream alive.
