Mumbai Indians will face in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Wednesday in the ongoing IPL 2026. It is often noted that MI bring their best in the second phase of the league stage and it is high time that they start ticking those right boxes they are known to tick.
With only two wins in seven games, MI would want to turn a corner and come up with a collective effort. MI have suffered a huge blow as their frontline spinner Mitchell Santner has been ruled out of the entire season with a shoulder injury and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has come in as replacement.
MI were blown away in the last game by arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings as they suffered a gargantuan loss of 103 runs and they would want to come back stronger.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad had successfully chase down 229 runs against Rajasthan Royals in their previous game and their batting unit has grown in confidence. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma have been in top form but Travis Head’s form remains a concern for the team.
Pat Cummins was able to hit the ground running on his return as he bagged figures of 1-27 in his four overs.
Head to Head: Matches: 25, Won by MI: 15, Won by SRH: 10.
