Former Indian opener Kris Srikkanth has criticised Pakistan’s mundane performance after they suffered a huge loss of 61 runs against arch-rivals India at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday. Srikkanth questioned Pakistan’s skipper Salman Ali Agha’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss.
India posted an above-par score of 175 runs on the board after Ishan Kishan scored a blistering knock of 77 runs off just 40 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes. Pakistan, in response, were bowled out for 114.
Srikkanth said even India’s C team will beat Pakistan easily after a one-sided contest on Sunday.
“India should say that their main team is not available and that India C team will play against you. Even the C team will beat them, this is the kind of batting they have. Will you field first after winning the toss on a wicket like this? The match was over right there. It was a ridiculous decision. They were talking so much about boycott, it would have better for them if they did not come,” he said on ‘Cheeky Cheeka’
Barring Usman Khan, who scored 44 runs off 34 balls, none of the Pakistan batters could get going. Pakistan were left reeling at 34-4 and it was impossible for them to make a comeback after that.
He added, “Look at the buildup they gave. Farhan a very dangerous batter. Look at their scorecard. That scorecard is a pincode. Only Usman Khan played. The number of balls their batters played were also pincode balls. They should stop saying they have fast bowlers. Say there are mystery spinners. But their life is only a mystery, the country is only a mystery, the way we play is also a mystery. We don’t know if we will come or not, If we come we dont know how we will come, this is that kind of a team.”
India will next take on the Netherlands at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Wednesday.
